Dumpty dump de diddy de dump.....

That was the sound my poor hubbys heart was making this afternoon! Not quite the usual steady thumping sound so after persuading him that he really couldn't go and help out at our local church tonight as planned we packed the kids in the car and headed for the local hospital! Fortunately there was only one other person in the A & E dept so he got seen straight way and put through a barrage of tests before being transferred to the larger hospital in Lancaster (about 20 miles from us). They are keeping him in for 'observation' tonight and we will wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Just had a call from him and he's feeling a bit better but has to have the nurses take him to the loo....poor soul!!

  1. Oh Naomi, what a birthday weekend you are having. Hope he is back home with you tomorrow. Don't stress out - he's in the right place (apart from the food). Take him some scran if they keep him in another day.

  2. Thanks Chicita x You're right, I don't think I would sleep a wink if he was at home. I'd be worried every time I couldn't hear him snoring!!!

  3. Oh dear! Naomi! What a shock that must have been! Praying all will be okay and he will not be tormenting those poor nurses too much. Seriously, you know where we are just a phone call away if you need any help with practical matters or work or anything...

  4. so sorry to hear about your other half. a similar thing happened to mine about 8 years ago, but a change in diet, a new exercise regime and plenty of fresh air, and he is a new man.
    hope all goes well,

  6. Glad to read your hubby is coming out & ok.

I know how bewildered you are feeling right now - how can it be just `one of those things`?! I had the same thing back in January, my heart was doing one two miss a few in a most alarming fashion. They said the same thing to me, Ive got arythmia (?sp) an irregular heart beat, that Ive probably always had & always will. I had been under a lot of stress PLUS ODing on cups of tea - caffein. Turns out stress is guarenteed to make my heart go a bit mad so now I go out of my way to avoid it. Ive cut down on the caffein too - and feel fine now.
Sounds like it could be the same or similar. I had trouble getting my head round how it could be normal, till talking to a friend it turns out she has had the same thing as me for 3 or 4 years now...

Hopefully they will explain things properly, and he will feel better soon

  7. Thanks! It sounds like just the same thing! We were just worried because his dad had a long history of heart problems so it's always lingering in the background, especially as he is the spitting image of him! So for now he has to slim down, and calm down and carry on!!
